When a person is ashamed of his or her body because of the statements and actions of another person, this is called bodyshaming. This problem often occurs on social networks such as Instagram or TikTok and counts as cyber-bullying. Influencers often show themselves on their profiles with perfect and flawless bodies, but many followers do not realise that this rarely corresponds to reality and often want to look the same. In some cases, this results in young people not feeling comfortable in their bodies and comparing themselves to their idols. People who are overweight, for example, are often bullied on the internet because they do not conform to the "norm". Many victims suffer from this and begin to no longer accept themselves as they are. This makes the countermovement of Body Positivity even more crucial.
